Gotta have one

Thanks to Josh Marshall for a detailed, illuminating post on tablet technology. When the next pile of money comes showering down upon me from heaven, I'll be lining up for one of these. (I notice that the vendor from which Marshall bought his doesn't list a price!) That is, assuming it's compatible with a Mac. Er, bet not.

But since this is fantasyland anyhow, I'll continue: I take a lot of notes at professional conferences, in class, and in student conferences. I'm a note-taker. I usually do it with a laptop (never having been able to get the damned keyboard to work with the damned Tungsten E). Which is fine; I'm a speedy typist; EXCEPT it doesn't allow me to diagram and what not. At the end of note-taking at CCCC, I do archives, and fine. At the end of class, my notes are only mine, though occasionally I circulate them among the class. At the end of a student conference, the notes are taken in hard copy, and I give them to the student. How good it would be to have a copy for myself, as well!

I've got an Acer Tablet PC that works pretty well, though to be honest I don't use the tablet function as much anymore as I used to.
