Blanket apology-in-advance

I've just had my come-to-jesus moment with my writing schedule, and confronted what I knew but had been denying: I'm behind schedule. And I absolutely have to make that September 30 deadline with my handbook chapters. So if I disappear from the blog for notable stretches over the next six weeks, don't worry. I haven't lost my fingers or my mind; I'm just busy busy busy. And if you ask me to do something and I decline, don't take it personally. Just ask me again on October 1. Aieeeeeeeeeeeee

You know that annoying saying, "Everything happens for a reason"? Well, here's the reason this happened to you: to reassure me that I'm not a horrible human being, and that yes, I will finish this darn diss. Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but soon, and for the rest of my life...or at least, that's what the guy in the trench & fedora said.

Yep, you'll finish. When you're behind schedule, you just have to clear everything else off. Set up your syllabi this fall so that you can get your diss done. Don't assign a bunch of books you haven't yet read. Etc. xxoo
